Tutorial Design of Experiment

The goal of the Design of Experiments tutorial is to bring students closer to the fundamental methods of Design of Experiments (DoE). The students learn the format of full- and partial-factorial experimental plans by means of sample problems. Students can name the resulting combinations and transfer this knowledge to more complex experimental plans. In addition, they learn how to identify uncontrollable disturbance and how its influence on observable output quantities can be statistically eliminated. They become familiar with the principle approaches of hypothesis testing, master the execution and mathematics of the most important methods (T-test, F-test). Furthermore, students can name solution applications by violating the mathematical prerequisites.

The tutorial starts with a short kickoff in the week before the group work phase. The group work phase is a weeklong block course that ends with a short presentation and written report of the students’ results in the following week. The time between kickoff and presentation is required as preparation and follow-up for the tutorial. Each tutorial has 4-10 participants.

All questions concerning scheduling and registration are to be addressed to Mr. Sören Wenzel by email (see contact information on right side of page). Due to the limited number of participants, please contact Mr. Wenzel prior to signing up in TUCaN.
