I am researching the integration of energy-harvesting vibroacoustic metamaterials in aviation. The focus is on reducing noise transmission from open-rotor propellers in order to sustainably improve passenger comfort. At the same time, I aim to convert mechanical vibration energy into electrical energy using piezoelectrically active transducer materials such as ferroelectrets. In this way, self-sufficient sensor systems can be enabled, opening up new pathways for energy-efficient and intelligent aircraft structures.
