Research Project and Conulting

One pillar of our collaboration with industry is the joint realisation of research projects. The SAM is usually a consortium partner together with other research institutions and industrial companies, e.g. as part of EU, federal and state of Hesse projects.

Transfer projects funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) offer an attractive opportunity to transfer the results of basic research into application. The SAM is working with BMW AG, for example, to transfer findings from the Collaborative Research Center 805, which runs from 2009 to 2021, into industrial applications. The federal government's funding database is a valuable source of information when searching for the right funding program for a collaboration with the SAM.

It is also possible to carry out research projects with the SAM without the involvement of public funding bodies. As a rule of thumb, a research assistant works on a research topic for a longer period of time (>2 years) and is funded by an industrial company via a research project. The resulting scientific findings are incorporated into the research assistant's doctoral thesis. Several doctoral students at SAM have already successfully completed their doctorates in this way in cooperation with industrial companies.

Independently of this, we can offer research services and scientifically based advice in the areas of our expertise as part of industrial contracts. In cooperation with our partner, the Fraunhofer LBF, we can make you an offer.

Please contact us if you are interested. We look forward to hearing from you.
