Technical Mechanics for Electrical Engineers (TMET)
Lecturer: Dr.-Ing. Nicklas Norrick
Organizational Assistants: Philipp Neubauer, M.Sc., Sören Wenzel, M.Sc.
The course “Technical Mechanics for Electrical Engineers (TMET)” is oriented toward B.Sc. ETiT and B.Sc. Wi-ETiT. For further regulatory information, please refer to the appropriate student service office. (Servicezentrum etit).
Lecture in the summer semester of 2019: Tuesdays 16:15 – 18:50, S1|01-A04 (lower level of the lecture hall called “Audimax”), 16.04.2019 – 16.07.2019.
For copyright reasons, the lecture slides are not made available online. The following is recommended as accompanying literature to the lecture:
Accompanying the lecture script:
Markert, Norrick: Einführung in die Technische Mechanik, ISBN 978-3-8440-3228-4
The lecture script is available for purchase in book stores or directly through Shaker-Verlag online (lecture script TMET at Shaker-Verlag). Alternatively, a limited number of scripts are available at the university library (ULB Stadtmitte).
Recitation exercises with their completed solutions:
Markert: Statik – Aufgaben, Übungs- und Prüfungsaufgaben mit Lösungen, ISBN 978-3-8440-3279-6
Markert: Elastomechanik – Aufgaben, Übungs- und Prüfungsaufgaben mit Lösungen, ISBN 978-3-8440-3280-2
Markert: Dynamik – Aufgaben, Übungs- und Prüfungsaufgaben mit Lösungen, ISBN 978-3-8440-2200-1
Addition materials will offered as download via the moodle platform.
The recitations take place in three small groups at 13 dates (calender week 17 to calender week 29, 23.04.2019 – 19.07.2019).
Group 1: Monday, 08:00 – 09:40, S101/A02
Group 2: Tuesday, 13:30 – 15:10, S103/226
Group 5: Friday, 09:50 – 11:30, S101/A02
The placement into the smaller groups occurs through registration in TUCaN. The small groups are each run by two tutors, who take questions from students. There is, however, no recitation lecture held by the lecturer.
All recitation exercises are published in the lecture script. Additionally, the recitation materials will be made available to download online via the moodle platform.
Solutions to Recitations:
Solution to the exercises are made available online via the moodle platform after the recitation. Only one possible solution method is presented, however, there may be multiple ways to solve the exercises.
Exam Booster hours
In the summer semester 2019, two exclusive Exam Booster hours will be offered. previously unpublished material from former exams will be presented and discussed. Furthermore, students have the chance to ask questions regarding the content of the lecture.
